Berinag
Overview of Berinag
The small hill station of Berinag is located in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state. This district is one of the eastern most corners of the Himalayan mountain range. Located at a height of 1740m above sea level, Berinag offers a wonderful view of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas like Nanda Dev and Panchchuli.
History of Berinag
Berinag was initially known as Bedinag. Bedi means many and nag means snake. In the olden days, this place was filled with many temples dedicated to the Snake God. Even today, one can find quite a few snake temples here. The tea plantations were stared by the British rulers during the 18th century, and today, this is one of the main occupations of the local inhabitants of Berinag. This hill station is known for its extremely tasty tea.

Berinag hill station, located in Pithoragarh district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, is at a height of 1740m above sea level and spread across many scenic villages and snow-clad peaks of Himalayan Mountain Ranges. It is located at 29.80 degrees towards the North and 80.07 degrees towards the East.
