Hmuifang
An overview of Hmuifang
Situated at a height of 1619 m above sea level, Hmuifang, though a small place, is an important tourist destination in Mizoram. The virgin forest covers that surround the mountains of Hmuifang are the characteristic features of this place. This is found on the way to the other famous tourist destination in Mizoram, Lunglei. It is situated quite close to the capital city of Aizawl at a distance of 50km from this place.
History of Hmuifang
This is a small hill station and the tourist resort of Hmuifang was built upon the Lallianvunga Lands by the kings who used to rule this place earlier. All the villages covered in this mountain area were ruled by the same king in those days. Tuirial River is sourced by this hill station of Hmuifang.

As one travels to the famous Lunglei hill station in Mizoram, one can see the beauty of Hmuifang secretly located within the mountains that are surrounded by the dense and green forest cover. The average height of this hill station is 1619 m above sea level.
How to reach Hmuifang and local modes of transport
Air – Lengpui Airport in Aizawl is the closest one for tourists who want to come to Hmuifang.
Rail – Bairabi Rail Junction in Mizoram is the nearest railway station to Hmuifang.
Road – There are lots of government and private buses operating between Aizawl and Hmuifang as the distance is only about 50km.
Local transport – Hmuifang is a very small place, therefore, most of the tourists prefer to travel on foot to the nearby attractions of this hill station.
