How to reach Uttarakhand
By air: The Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest to reach Uttarakhand. It is well-connected with lots of flights from all the important cities in the country. The other airport which is close to Nainital, has only limited connectivity to other airports.
By rail: Uttarakhand, being one of the top tourist spots in the country, is well connected by all modes of transport. There are many major railway junctions in the state like Haridwar, Kathhgodam and Dehradun. A variety of trains like express, super-fast, deluxe, premium and passenger trains connect the state with other parts of the country.
By road: All over the state, many government sector and private sector buses ply in great numbers. The road network between Uttarakhand and the national capital of Delhi deserves special mention as the frequency of buses is very high in this route. If you are also looking for an instructor to accompany you, you might have to pay an extra charge of 500INR per day. However, you should be careful to choose only authorised instructors when you come to Uttarakhand, as there are lots of new and inexperienced instructors here trying to make some big bucks from you.

The peak skiing season is between December and March.
