Weekend Getaways From Mumbai To Ahmedabad

Sidi Sayed mosque is an important place for the muslims in the region, which is well known for the Jhali screen and the exquisite work in form of carvings. Bhadra Fort is one of the oldest forts in the region, where once there were many royal palaces and well laid gardens. There is a temple of Bhadrakali in the fort, which was built during the Maratha rule. Akshardham Temple is a beautiful temple in Gandhinagar, which is visited by lots of tourists coming for weekend getaways from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Kankaria Lake, built in 1451 by Qutab Ud din, is among the oldest artificial lake, in a circular form, with a summer palace inside the middle of the lake, with gardens and is known as Nagina Wadi. A fountain show is held with bright lights every day, making it a special attraction among the tourists. Hathisingh Jain Temple makes for an important structure, which is quite a beautiful structure built in white marble, dedicated to 15th jain apostle. Lots of intricate carvings adorn the richness of this temple.
