Idukki
Idukki district of Kerala was formed on 26th January 1972 and is known for its mountainous hills and dense forests. Idukki district consists of Devikulam, Udumbanchola and Peermedu taluks. Geographical location And Idukki Weather
Idukki weather undergoes a sudden variation when move from west to east. Idukki weather in western area is moderate and temperature varies between 21oC and 27oC. Idukki weather in eastern area has comparatively cold climate with temperature varying between -1oC to 15oC during winter and 5oC to 15oC during summer.

Munnar: Its tea plantations and beautiful hills is attracting a number of tourist all around the year.
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary: Idukki tourism has attracted to this place because of its thorny scrub forest with a number of xerophytes species and Giant Grizzled Squirrel of India.
Devikulam: is located at 16 km away from Munnar. Idukki sightseeing is amazing because of wild flowers and rare herbs. The crip and cool mountain air is loaded with the fragrance of various flowers and is the reason of Idukki tourism increase. It is a paradise for nature lovers and is the most serene and beautiful place in Kerala.
Idukki Dam: It was built across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills. It is the world’s second and Asia’s first arch dam therefore it is Idukki sightseeing attraction. It lies close to the Cheruthoni barrage.
Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary:
The Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary extends over the Thodupuzha and Udumpanchola taluka of Idukki district. The Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 77 sq km and is about 450-748 m above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful and flora and fauna rich wildlife in Kerala.
Marayoor: It is 40 km away from Munnar. Idukki sightseeing is worth a visit because it is the only place in Kerala which has natural growth of sandal wood trees. It is also an important Idukki tourism attraction because of relics of new Stone Age civilization have been unearthed here.
Top Station: is a tranquil hill station located 32 km away from Munnar. It is at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level. It is the most famous hill spots in Kerala and therefore Idukki sightseeing attracts a lot many tourist.
Kuthumkal Waterfalls: picturesque view of the water cascading down from dazzling height is cause of Idukki tourism. Thousands of tourist visit this place throughout the year.
