Thekkady, one of the most popular hill stations and vacation spots in South India, is a place that is visited by many international and domestic tourists. Chellar Kovil on the way to Thekkady is a scenic place that is complete with abundant natural beauty like waterfalls and mountains. Anakkara is another great sanctuary near Thekkady. Situated at a height of about 1337 feet above sea level, Mangala Devi Temple is visited by many pilgrims who come to Thekkady as the temple is just about 15km from this place. Boating in the lake to reach the Periyar sanctuary, wildlife safaris in the reserve and trekking are some activities that tourists can do here.
