Overview of Bhaderwah
Bhaderwah is a beautiful town in the district of Doda in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Situated at the base of the mighty Himalayan Mountain range, the scenic beauty of this place has given it the nickname, “Mini Kashmir”. The snow-clad peaks, beautiful placid streams that flow into the rivers, icy glaciers, dense forests and the serene ambience of the place, make it one of the top tourist destinations in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
History of Bhaderwah
In the olden days, Bhaderwah was known as the “Land of Snakes”. In those days, Hettary Nagar was the name of Bhaderwah and there were two important towns here namely Udho Nagar and Donga Nagar. Both these Nagars were impacted hugely by the floods during previous years. Even today, the boulders or the huge rocks that are found in this area are strong evidences of the damages suffered by Bhaderwah in the ancient era.
Geographical location
Bhaderwah is located in the Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir at a height of 1613m or 5292 feet above sea level. It is located at 32.98 degrees towards the North and 75.72 degrees towards the East.
