Snow Skiing in Himachal Pradesh
Snow-skiing is one of the most common adventure sports practiced in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The state experiences heavy snowfall during winters which makes it easier for tourists and locals to enjoy a session of skiing here. The state has many mountains that are covered with a thick cap of snow during the months between December and April. Ever since the 1930s, Himachal Pradesh is being regarded as the ultimate snow-skiing destination of India. It was during the time of British rule that the Himachal Pradesh state grew as a big skiing spot. The British rulers understood that the state has immense potential to become a great destination for winter sports as it was replete with snow-capped mountain peaks and valleys all round. Today, people from many parts of the world come here during winters to participate in snow skiing activity. Some of the famous skiing destinations in the state are Manali, Dharamshala, Kufri, Shimla, Kulu, Narkanda and Solang Valley.

There are lots of domestic flights that connect Kulu with many other airports in the country.

The national capital is 343km from here and this route passes through Chandigarh. The other cities that are easily accessible from Himachal Pradesh are Chandigarh (117km), Ambala (151km) and Dehradun (240km) and Punjab’s Pathankot district.
